The Mere and District Day Centre provides a safe place where older people  who might otherwise become isolated, and possibly housebound, can meet for companionship, activities, a hot lunch and occasionally enjoy a day trip out.

This support can also provide some respite for family carers and supporters, enabling them to have a few hours to attend to their own needs knowing their relatives are safe and enjoying themselves.

The stimulation of shared activities, company and enjoying a nutritious meal without having to prepare it, together with the regular routine of attendance can help people to remain independant in their own homes and community.

A programme of activities is compiled every 6 months and the guests receive a copy of the plan for the current month.
